Grow Through It depicts that from struggle comes strength. Tafiea Stokes struggled with period pain from age fourteen on. She was placed on many different birth control methods to help decrease the pain among other symptoms she experienced with her period. She was diagnosed with dysmenorrhea, irritable bowel syndrome and even had her appendix surgically removed but still continued with pain and uncomfortable symptoms. It was not until she was married and trying to conceive with her husband that she would be closer to an answer. After having surgery she was diagnosed with stage four endometriosis. Because of her pain and infertility, Tafiea became depressed. Depression surfaced throughout her journey. However, she was able to overcome and grow from it. She gained positivity and grew emotionally, spiritually and mentally. She hopes to use her story to help others to gain the courage to want to tell their stories. She uses her voice to help tell the stories of the 200 million women impacted by endometriosis.
