I wanted my daughter to grow up knowing her language

Growing up in America, I didn't have any books exposing me to Hindi. I didn't want that for my daughter - I wanted her to have a connection to her roots, and also to be exposed to different cultures from around the world.

That's why I wrote this book - not just to help my daughter, but to give any kid the chance to see a new culture. Even if it is just counting to ten.
