No Birds for Breakfast is an illustrated children's story written in verse and centers on a boy's pet cat. The boy is curious and responsible while the cat is the main character and takes us on a journey through the jungle while he catnaps. No Birds for Breakfast features Sunshine the cat and his friend Nino as they begin their day in sunny Florida. Outside the window, a loud bird is chatting away. Nino is curious about the bird in the tree, so he goes to find out what kind it could be. While Nino is gone, Sunshine takes a little catnap and dreams he's a tiger on the hunt for breakfast.
