Trevion Carson is a pretty typical inner-city teen. A recent high school graduate, he has decided to take a year off before going to college; until events force him to flee the crime and uncertainty of his neighborhood and join the Navy as an alternative to incarceration. As cool and aware as Trevion believes himself to be, he is immediately thrust into a world which confirms to him that he is, at best, naïve. Set around the events of Operation Desert Shield/Storm, follow Trevion as he navigates basic training and military trade school before finally serving on-board the USS Mount Wilson with its numerous little cliques and crews.
