Steffan Lavelle is a beta were-panther who has been entrusted with the security of the Lavelle pard for four centuries. It is against Kindred Law for any were-shifter to be with a human and if the relationship is discovered they are to be either killed or changed into one of them. He was doing so well until Raquel entered his life. In order to keep her alive, he wiped her memory and sent her back to the human world.

Raquel Dulcati has had difficulty performing her job as an ER nurse ever since she's returned from an African Safari and what troubles her even more is that her psychic gift returned to her as well. She can see things of the past if she touches a person, but she can't figure out why she can't perform her job.

Steffan receives word that Raquel is remembering things pertaining to his species of Kindred. It's a race against time before he won't be able to fix his mistake and save her life. He doesn't want to have to force her to be turned into a were-panther nor killed.

But will letting her go a second time kill him in the process?
