Law enforcement today is stressed and under attack. Community-based police are probably facing one of the most difficult situations, we have ever faced in our history of America. We had 64 police officers shot to death in the line of duty just in the year 2016. That represents an increase from 1995 of approximately 163. In any given year, it has usually been about eight police officers killed by ambush. Further, we have recently seen an increase in killings by ambush than we have ever had in history - Dallas experienced one of those along with Baton Rouge. We are seeing this going on throughout our cities, particularly since 2015-2016, as compared to the prior ten years.
