The occupying army has pushed the rebels deep into the desert wastelands, and their courageous leader Senasha has been captured by the High Priestess.

With their numbers reduced, a telepathic covert agent of the Sacred Temple sows division within the rebel ranks, while all around them temple heretics preach a doctrine of passivity, encouraging them to give up their struggle.

In these desperate circumstances, Arol leads a daring mission to rescue Senasha. Helped by his mentor, the wizard-like "kozem" Bernarro, Arol proves his mettle and gains the respect of his fellow rebels.

Thrust into a position of leadership, Arol must find a way to guide his ragtag army to victory against his homeland's brutal occupiers. His powers and his knowledge of science are all he has to compensate for his adversary's overwhelming numbers and superior organization . . . it will have to be enough.
