Kyle McKinley is a former RCMP undercover cop and internationally acclaimed artist. While spending the summer at his cabin and studio on a northern New Brunswick river, a dead girl turns up on a beaver lodge with an interesting tattoo. Then, a missing hermit's body is found on the shoreline. The investigation leads McKinley to a fishing lodge where the guests aren't there for the fishing. The lodge's mysterious owner, his psychotic bodyguard, a motorcycle gang, deadly drugs, and a Mexican cartel hitman all weave their way into a captivating saga with a thrilling climax. McKinley had been looking forward to a quiet summer with his girlfriend on the big river. Not going to happen.
