The purpose of this book is to bring awareness to postpartum depression-a silent epidemic in Black women. It clear up some of the myths and stigma regarding postpartum depression and mental health in general, empower Black women to take control of their health, discuss some of the risk factors and protective factors against this disease, how to identify the symptoms, where to seek help that is culturally specific to Black women, clinicians' guide for supporting Black women, and a compiled list of community resources to help Black women experiencing postpartum depression.
