Following on from, The Cauling, this book continues Willow's quest to find her twin brother, Lark, who was snatched from Sanctus, the small Scottish hamlet peopled by witches and warlocks, and spirited away to Asgard, home of the Norse Gods. Unbeknown to Willow, her Mother, Sorrel and father, Sam are now desperately trying to find, both her and her brother, Lark, in an attempt to stop Willow's blood father from carrying out his threat to get to the twins first and to change them forever.
