Michael Sand, an ideological patriot, joined the Marine Corps at the age of 18 years. His exceptional quickness and leadership caught the attention of the Corps senior leadership and put him on a fast track to Lieutenant Colonel in Special Ops at Quantico, Virginia. After twenty years of outstanding service, and just prior to his idyllic retirement, the 'Full Bird' Colonel is confronted with a tragic loss and is forced to reconsider his life's purpose. While wrestling to recover from this stinging setback, Michael is contacted by the CIA and recruited by a clandestine group of investors who want his leadership skills and knowledge deployed to redirect their beloved nation's trajectory. Michael forms a private security and special ops firm with new but very limited rules of engagement dictated by the Rule of Law within the decaying borders of the United States. While the enemies of freedom, uninhibited by such restrictions, take full advantage of the law for treasonous purposes, Michael is still determined to preserve the nation's character and integrity and to stop the erosion of freedom. Michael's challenge is adapting to civilian life as he transitions from a no-holds-barred warrior to a cultured and more refined freedom fighter. Along the way he finds a new interest in romance as he struggles to overcome his loneliness. He also learns that he must educate people to the threats he sees. To that end he forms an Institute and charter school franchise with the purpose of educating young people regarding the founding principles that made America the envy of the world. As his companies grow and gain more influence, they come to the attention of the dark forces seeking power by any means.
