Kris Richards thought she was setting aside her change-the-world dreams when she quit her teaching job to stay home and have children. But in her blue-collar neighborhood of North Portland, she was just about to change her community. Kris and her husband Randy start a prayer initiative for their local school, which The Oregonian newspaper listed as one of the "Ten Most Violent Schools" in the state. From there begins a wild ride for this ordinary mother. She finds herself prayer walking, then serving, then speaking on behalf of this high school. Dreams come to pass, statistics dramatically shift for the school, its sports program, and crime in the neighborhood. What starts in North Portland spreads to other cities and states in the region.
