This is a book about preparing for Christian ministry--the academic face of it and the face that God runs Himself in uniting and reconciling our hearts to His. Both schools have their place, but ultimately everything poured into our storehouse is best placed at the Lord's disposal, not remaining in our hands or control; best if He chooses what is used and when. In going through my preparation process, I kept journal entries of the challenges and victories and especially of the things the Lord was teaching me and freeing me from in order to be more fruitful in ministry. Those interactions are deeply personal because they are aimed at transformation of heart. Unless we have a feel for what that looks like, we may miss a lot of what the Lord seeks to do in freeing us. There's no better Person to agree with than Jesus. The book is about staying in that kind of fellowship with Him--the fellowship of the mystery (Eph. 3:9).
