This is a continuation of 'Roland House' from the beginning. It's a modern-day 'Eve' story, where she eats the apple of knowledge and gains complete control over her 'Adam' and all the world besides. In these times there is no 'God' to punish her, but there is a 'Devil'. It's the present day and in a lab in California Nanochips are being developed that can interface with the human brain. A dozen of these untested wafers fall into the hands of a rich, young recluse, Roland, who tries one and discovers its cure-all, mind-enhancing properties. In a glow of health and generosity, he shares them with the few people he meets, a ten-year-old autistic girl and her mother, a cancer patient, a comatose girl and her father, a Japanese tycoon, among others, and his long empty mansion is filled with life and guests. But World War Three begins and one other guest joins this small group of 'illuminati', a recipient of a faulty wafer, a first test case, Claire, with exponentially expanded powers of mind over everything and everyone, except love. So begin the adventures of this group of mental samurai to survive and help others survive in a dizzying spin of events. States are not far behind to mass produce chips and to discover the integration of minds and computers leads to the disintegration of identity. Plans are hatched to dose and subjugate everyone. Claire, well ahead of the curve, steps up to the plate to stop this, to preserve human dignity. The revolution begins, and it ends, along with the resolution of her own demons, on these pages.
