This second paperback book of Whimsical Folk Artist Barbee's Index Card Art, features 61 unique, new pieces of whimsical art. Barbee (Barbara Ann Sanders Hauenstein) created these on standard 4x6 inch index cards as part of the Daisy Yellow Art Index Card A Day (ICAD) creative challenge during the summer of 2018. The artist adds short, sometimes humorous, notes about each piece of art, so that you can gain insight into her creative process. Her goals are to create "happy art" every day and inspire others through her blog, instructional videos and participation in various art groups. She urges the reader to add doodles in the blank areas around the existing pieces and to learn to love the art they create! The author provides a checklist of supplies as well as special tips and techniques that will assist the reader in creating art themselves. Supplies used for the index card art included fine liner pens, watercolor paint, acrylic paint, rubber stamps, ink, markers, glue, and paper scraps. The reader is encouraged to use items on hand, which include regular household items, thus enabling everyone to create art, regardless of their budget. This lovely, uplifting book of whimsical "hybrid" folkart (a compilation of mixed media with her personal drawings as a base), leaves readers encouraged, inspired and happy!
