David talked to dogs. Actually he talked to all animals, and they talked back. It was just something he could do. He could hear what they said to him. He could talk back to them. Sometimes when he really was close to an animal he could just THINK and HEAR and they understood. It was fun, much better than whispering. A downright good talk among friends is much better than just whispering. He wasn't sure exactly how it worked. His dad teased him about his "antennas." There were two tufts of hair that stuck up, one above each ear. His mom called them cowlicks, but he talked to several cows and they said they never licked people's hair.
