The Chinese New Year is the main Chinese festival that celebrates their New Year, for 2019 that is February 5th The date moves every year. They also refer to it as the Spring Festival. This year is that of the Pig, the Chinese rotate 12 animals over 12 years. The other animals are Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep/Goat, Monkey, Rooster, and Dog. They also associate these animals to months in the year, days and hours too. The Chinese celebrate the New Year by being with their family for a meal (family not there are still honoured with a place on the table being set for them). Obviously, its also an extremely noisy time with fireworks, laughter and happiness. 20% of the world celebrates this festival, preparations start on the 28th January, and after the 5th, there is a Lantern Festival on the 19th February. Enjoy a fortune cookie and celebrate the year of the Pig! This diary with to-do section associated with every date, has 4 days per page, and two calendars, this year and next year.
