Altogether the work is of great value for those who wish to practice the art of magic- not so much perhaps for the spiritualism element or its various meanderings regarding seances (which came into vogue two whole decades after its own publication!) but for its refutation of Hellfire, its debasement of the dangers of occultism, and its promotion of physical and mental health as precursors to clairvoyance.
