Remembering Amelie is based on my grandparents. A walk through time, a contrasting of historical Seattle, the politics and current policies of the time and the mind boggling changes that we have watched in awe. Seattle has a ghost story waiting to be told around every corner: Princess Angelina, Arthur Goodwin and the Fat Lady Barber to name a few Pike Place regulars. My hope in writing this story is that we come to realize our world as inter-dimensional, that we are multidimensional beings walking through parallel worlds. Whether we notice it or not, we are releasing souls and clearing up energies in interpenetrating dimensions just as quickly as we release and clear up our own personal energy field."This was a fascinating and intriguing read. I like the multidimensional nature, mixing the history with the personal." EleanorMuch like the soul of Seattle, my Grandmother was mystical, ethereal and heart centered. And in the end, she lost her mind. I received very few items of my grandmother's after she passed, including a dish set, a cornish handmade chair from my grandfather's uncle and a box of mementos. As I dug into her box of cards, an itemized grocery list, Seattle charms and trinkets, a story began to unravel. It was a tale of a young woman from Vaughn, figuring out life alone in a pioneer city. My heart went out to her and all her struggles. My goal is to pass on the legacy of both my grandmother and Seattle in a creative and spiritual way to reflect the mystical life that I received from her. I hope that I have captured the spirit of the both of them in this story.
