In this sequel to the amusing Tea in the Redwoods, Jack Stoner, a local real estate agent is cast as the leading man in the local theater's new play. Too bad he can't act, but this small Mill Valley theater must make do with local talent. Then, the beautiful young Helena and her sophisticated ex best friend, Lisa, are vying for the same role. Helena won out the last time they competed, but Lisa has the upper hand this time thanks to her romance with the play's director. Meantime two of the four cyclists, known as spandex warriors, have concerns. Alec's schoolteacher wife, Elaine, feels neglected and is taking up acting while Adam's Jack Russell has to be taken to a dog psychiatrist. Up at the Redwood Villas, an exclusive retirement place, the charming Roderic McLeod, is being hounded by predatory women residents as well as another claimant to a Scottish heirloom that he possesses. Nikki Coster, the wardrobe and makeup expert easily transforms Elaine into a sophisticated vamp, but the red wig that she supplies her with has a will of its own and causes a series of hilarious incidents.
