The expedition of Tabuk has been taken as a case study to find out some managerial aspects in the life of the Prophet [PBUH]. Four topics have been identified: human resources management, financial management, information management, and strategic management. Since a large number of people participated in the expedition yet human aspect was important. It deals with hiring, motivating, rewarding and managing people. They required resources to finance the campaign. It created the need for discussion of financial management. It discusses creating financial resources, using them and reserving to meet the requirements of the campaign. The purpose of the initiative was long-term, therefore, strategic management emerged. It encompasses the formation, implementation, and evaluation of strategy. Finally, capturing and communication of information was the essential input for the process. Thus, information management born out of the case. It is concerned with the collection and dissemination of timely and accurate information to the decision makers. These areas are the subject of the book.
