The purpose of this book is to investigate the true nature of teaching-learning, is it an application of a combination of process and phenomenon or the study of these phenomenon and process. Phenomenon is a fact or a situation (light energy, sound energy etc.) that is observed to exist or happen, especially one (light or sound tactile etc.) whose cause or explanation remains uncertain. Process is a series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end; e.g. Perception, Hearing, Seeing, Osmosis, Metabolism etc. Obviously teaching-learning incorporates both study and application of phenomenon and process. Phenomenon (light, sound, taste, smell and tactile energy) takes place in the environment of the organism while process takes place inside the organism (Perception, Understanding and Memory). So it is pertinent to study the science of teaching learning adequately before you can apply this phenomenon and process in teaching-learning effectively. So application of teaching-learning without understanding the science of teaching-learning is a form of BLIND ACTION.
