Stewart Snead has a severe case of triskaidekaphobia, or fear of the number thirteen. Even with the protection of a lucky horseshoe, a four-leaf clover, a cross, garlic, and his favorite blue rabbit's foot, year twelve has been pretty bad so far. Convinced his thirteenth birthday will be his last, he puts his affairs in order, writes a will, and says his good-byes. Parents, teachers, and friends do their best to help him, but nothing can stop destiny. JANET STIMSON is the author and illustrator of Gretta's Garden and The Tiny Tree. She has composed many songs, and written several musicals for the stage such as Zog, Dreams of a Summer Night, and Vikings. Janet lives with her family near Seattle, Washington.
