The Mansion of Sakra describes a previous life of the Buddha, in his birth as the wise and clever court advisor, Mahausada, in the Buddha's quest to develop perfection in knowledge and wisdom: a prerequisite to the attainment of eventual Buddhahood. We are introduced to the child Mahausada, and subsequently to the youth and later the man he becomes. We follow the life of Mahausada, told with wit and charm, as he brings to light both knowledge and wisdom to solve the many problems of his native village and later of the Kings court to which he is appointed as an advisor. Come what treachery, backstabbing, enmity and intrigue is thrust upon Mahausada we can trust, that he will save the day!
