The story of Ed Bailey, a writer who cannot think of names for female characters and this causes him writers' block. One night furious at his inability to make up a simple name, he joins his wife to watch her favourite TV show "Unsolved." What strikes him most about the show is that the home movie clips show young intelligent women at their physical and mental peaks and even those who were down on their luck deserved to complete their lives. He gets an idea of how he could right their fates in a very small way and researches the girls more thoroughly, turning them into heroines for his books. To his delight his books take off and he reaches the point where he might even be able to write full-time, his first child is on the way and they just bought their first home. Then the nightmares began, nightmares about the girls whose names he has used. The girls are very unhappy and they demand revenge. Ed tells himself not to be foolish, after all, they are just dreams, RIGHT?.
