The Dark Lord is Rising. Lord Bowyn knows he must take action. Only the elves have the power to stop the Dark Lord but they have disappeared from the Land, leaving it exposed to the influence of Evil. Lord Bowyn is the only one who can muster any similar power but even he is no match for the Dark Lord. It is only when two young boys with unprecedented power cross his path that he begins to hope he can actually match the Dark Lord's power. The boys, Afryd and Lyf, command an unusual power, the power of an Initiator. However, the Dark Lord is aware of them and hunts the boys. Soon, Man, Dwarf and Troll will need to join them in a last ditch attempt to protect the boys and defeat the Dark Lord.
