Poetry and Flash fiction stories from a lifetime. The following pages were written over a period of eighteen years. It was a period of growth for me on the journey of becoming the woman I am today. Depression and bulimia have always played within a dark corner of my life. I have suffered from them both since an early age. One of the ways I have dealt with my "problems," is through pen to paper. Writing helped me escape. It gave me a friend to talk to when I was alone and simply so needed someone. Afterall one can be in a room full of loud boisterous people and still be alone. Writing became my friend and my soul mate. I will always be thankful for Francis Ford Coppola's Zoetrope Virtual Studios. During some of my darkest times, I turned to the Zoetrope to write, read and experience life. I was so amazed after not having visited the studio in several years that twenty -eight of my flash fictions stories were still available to me. The following is my struggle with life, beginning and ending of relationships, some of it happened to me, some of it was mere fantasy. My hope is that possibly it may resonate with someone going through some of the same struggles. Tawsha K. Brinkley
