This book presents a mini project on Windows Batch script, Sybase database and C# application. This project is inspired from a real time activity of real-world organizations. Currently each organization is using automated email service. Now, what is automated email service? You may have noticed that whenever you open your personal email, you find various emails from different organizations - like bank, insurance company, educational institute etc. Millions of users like you receive this same email every day. Please, do not assume that these emails have been sent manually every day. A utility runs at a particular time on each day and all these emails are sent automatically to the users' personal email. This whole process is automated and no one has to give any second thought of it except some occasional tweaking here and there. They send us these emails for various reasons like a. to notify us, our credit bill information ((bank), b. to promote their new policy (insurance company), c. to offer distant PG program (educational institute) etc. I think this can be a good mini project for those guys and girls who love to code. This book is written in a very layman way that all the aspects of this project can be very easily understandable. I have added a section - PROJECT DETAILS in this book; where I have described step by step process of this application. For the guys and girls love to do coding can create this application by themselves using this book. I have added a section - CODING; where I have added all the full coding scripts, I used to create this project. The readers can also change the existing code with their own code and can make their own custom-made project. Now, here come some technical details. Windows Batch Script is used to create a batch job for this project. This batch job can be scheduled in windows scheduler to run at a particular time of a day. This batch job calls an automated email utility, written in C# and triggers automated email. Sybase database is used to store the configuration details of this project. Readers can choose their own database and can change the connection string configuration script according to that. Last but not the least, section details of this book.
