The second short story from within the Cleansing universe, this one follows a tank unit as they are in that first wave that came out of Paris in the original Cleansing book. In the Cleansing timeline this comes in the first book as mentioned, just as Paris is falling, this is the support that was meant to come for our main hero but never arrived, this is why. A near retired tank commander in the British army and his stripped back nearly disbanded unit as they try and fight their way into Paris but they meet the masks and their devious ways, a thriller once again involving vehicles. Watch and feel him and his men as they get reduced to primal and gory savagery on levels they were never trained for, a truly harrowing twist within the Cleansing universe, then at the end of it all they just catch the beginning of the massive European retreat.
