E. W. Rogers was a well-known Bible teacher among the assemblies, and travelled to minister the word throughout the English-speaking world. Brought up in a Christian home, he was converted at an early age, and was fond of books. He taught himself Hebrew and Greek. E. W. spent his working life as a civil servant in the Patent Office. It was widely believed that his working life enabled him to apply the same principles of analysis, conciseness and definiteness to his ministry. About 1950 he retired early from the Civil Service to leave himself entirely free to serve the Lord. At home E. W. became a regular speaker, not only at the conferences at which he had spoken for years, but also at the various places which had series of annual Bible Readings. He conducted Readings on a great variety of scripture passages every year for many years at both Largs and Ayr. He was nearly as regular at Eastbourne and occasionally at Aberdeen. E. W. contributed to most assembly magazines. He wrote articles on many subjects and answered questions in Believer's Magazine. His several books included "Him That Endured" on Hebrews, and "Concerning the Future," none of them long, but all typical of the man's oral ministry. "The Revelation and Future Events" has proven a clear and helpful introduction to prophecy and we are delighted to make this new edition available to the Lord's people.
