Colin Baxter is widely acclaimed for his distinctive landscape photography. In the early 1980s his work revolutionized the postcard industry in Scotland. Since then he has produced a varied range of publications, including more than twenty books, as well as calendars. Colin Baxter's photographs demonstrate his special empathy with the environment and cover many areas of Britain and the world. He lives in the Highlands of Scotland. Des Thompson is head of uplands and peatlands for Scottish Natural heritage. He is the author and editor of several other works.
