Nostalgic memories of boating in Rhyl, North Wales from 1936-1967: - In setting out this little book in which I have tried to give an insight into the motor passenger boat industry which once existed in Rhyl, I am aware that there are many gaps, each generation seems reluctant to ask questions about the previous one. I was as guilty as anyone: There were many questions that I should have asked when there were those around me who could have provided the answers, but now they are gone, and so I can only describe what I can remember, much of it from first hand experience during the period 1936 to 1967 when the last large passenger boat left Rhyl, bringing to an end another chapter in the Town's history. In a world where changes take place very rapidly, it is perhaps incumbent on those who think that their occupation or way of life could vanish, to make notes, take photographs and record for posterity their unique contribution to our heritage.
