In The Figure in the Graveyard, Mary Arlene Blake and her three friends are facing puberty. Growing up when emigration and The Troubles were a fact of life in Ireland, doesn´t stop the teenage girls from falling madly and deeply in love. As we follow the girls and their fun-filled lives, sinister events are unfolding in Drumbron.

The reported crying of 'ghost babies' brings the priest to the deserted grounds of the Mother and Baby Home. With a rosary and a sprinkling of holy water, the babies are hushed to silence.

Years later, the sprinkling of holy water and the saying of a decade of the rosary is also the chosen method to help people forget about the gruesome discovery unearthed on the grounds of the Home. The secrets from the past must remain buried deep.
