A Further Glimpse continues the memoirs of Beverley Cowcher's first novel, A Backward Glance. A young widow with three children, Beverley returns to her nursing career with the Silver Chain Nursing Association in Busselton, eventually becoming Manager of the Busselton Branch.




The patient stories, told with Beverley's kind humour and compassion show the role of the Silver Chain nurse in the 1970's through to the 1990's. The teamwork, the willingness of the nurses to work with patient and family preferences, and the genuine love for the community and their patients shines through in Beverley's latest novel.




Intertwined with the patient stories is the continuing story of family and friends, children becoming adults, friends developing and the love and loss, joy and sadness and humour associated with the everyday lives of people who see themselves as normal, but are in fact extraordinary.
