The time: third-century World Era. The place: Aquarius, thriving metropolis of Zone 53. The Progressive revolution has run its course: the restlessness of the nations has been subdued, the fetters of religion cast off and Science and Reason has ascended to prominence. A new global society consolidating mankind's emancipation encompasses the planet and humankind can at last look forward in hopefulness to the dawning age of Peace, Justice and Equality. Now there is time to delve back into our shadowy past, to chart society's evolution through to its emergence into the radiance of One World; to probe the cosmic mind. So let us venture back through the dark ages of human progression - the witch burnings, the religious wars, the Inquisition and, yes, the wars on science and equality, seeking insight into the soul of those along the path that leads to us - asking the questions that lead to enlightenment. But beware the Other who guards the fount and know that not all questions are permitted and neither does every answer guide us towards the Light. And, along the way, perhaps you will realize, dear seeker, that one answer must be found - one choice made - before the darkness overtakes you.
