This spiritual work of fiction highlights a true common thread through history of the search by established religions today and of philosophers from history for the meaning of life and the elusive description of what true love is. These have been questions all religions and philosophers have strived tom explain in all of written history and still strive to explain today. The title refers to the homespun, spiritual philosophy of life the two main characters and elderly couple have in spite of the daily obstacles or shadows that we all have. Kerry and Leslie Jensen have been retired for over a decade and live in the southwest U. S. although both grew up in the northern Midwest where they have spent the summer when the story begins. They've come back for the last time because they owe it to themselves to once again visit and live where it is common to find communities of others who praise, encourage and reward original points of views. He is a retired homebuilder and selftaught student of world religions and she is a retired college professor of philosophy. Together they reveal an inclusive philosophy of life that depicts parts of most world religions and some philosophers from history. It also incorporates their beliefs of the sacredness of the unity of the processes of the natural world around and within us all. They live their beliefs by their daily efforts of improving everyone's various sense of their own importance by encouraging others to help them figure out better ways for the world to work for the betterment of all.
