A social history and tactics lesson about the Critical Mass bicycle movement, this collection is meant to both serve as a lesson for the unaware and as a refresher and motivator about the movement. The biggest question, Is Critical Mass a protest or a celebration?, is explored in extensive detail alongside illustrations by Matt Gauck, Fly, Sparky Taylor, and Andy Singer. Among the pieces included are those by Ted White, early Critical Mass cofounder and director of the documentary We Aren't Blocking Traffic!; Ayleen Crotty, cohost of the KBOO bike show; and Scott Larkin of Go by Bicycle zine. There are also extensive reprints from the 1995 Critical Mass zine Hey! Get Out of Our Way!
