Just as the Hudson Valley of New York is beginning to rebuild from the zombie apocalypse, a new threat emerges that threatens to destroy everyone in its path. Dr. Rebecca "Becks" Truesdale must face an old enemy, deal with a crushing loss, and put herself in grave danger in order to combat this threat both in the lab and on the battlefield. This is the third in the HVZA series, and is set in New York City, the Hudson Valley, and Albany, New York, where Zimmermann once again brings frightening realism to her story of ordinary people struggling to survive.
