I am a woman nurtured by parents, family members, teachers, and friends of great faith. One basic tenant involved the belief that angels are God's messengers trained to protect and guide us throughout our lives here on earth. I knew that I had a handpicked, guardian angel from early childhood. A few years ago, I was drawn to study angels either in scripture, or theological text. Then I met an exceptional woman, Rev. Cathy Cartisano Andrews, who introduced me to angelic spirituality. I was attracted to the fact that many religions integrate angels into their beliefs. An example of this, is Archangel Barachiel identified in the Eastern Orthodox traditions, also mentioned in this children's story. I would like to thank my family, friends, teachers, neighbors, and faith community for instilling in me the belief that angels do exist.
