Alternative Revolution Magazine: Gt6 Photography Special Edition Michael Enoches

Publisher Marketing: Our magazine features photographers, models, artist, music, movies and much more. In this special edition we feature John GT6 Johnson. His studio is in downtown Columbus, Ohio. The building was built in 1910 and is an open industrial space filled with artists. It houses, sculptors, painters, web app developers, an architect and of course GT6 Photography. Our building hosts a farmers market two Saturdays a month so it seems I'm always bumping into familiar faces and I love that about it. The studio itself is a pretty cozy space but the environment really lets the creativity flow. When I first started shooting I did a lot of pinup and glamor and a few other various styles as well. I think it took me a couple of years to build up enough credibility with models and show people what my true style is all about and what I'm capable of doing. I knew that I had to shoot more of what I felt strongly about. I have always been drawn to the art of Eric Stanton and I'm a big fan of Bob Carlos Clarke's photography if that gives you any idea of what kind of themes I mostly like to shoot. I like themes that can be a little dark, bizarre and taboo. I call it an Alt-Glam-Fetish hybrid. Weird is good, right? People had always liked and accepted my pinup work so I was a little apprehensive that they might not like my new direction. The response was quite the opposite, people liked seeing more of an edge and the kinky side of my work generates a lot of positive feedback. I was the lead photographer for Feroce Magazine from its launch until last mid-2014. This was a definitely a learning experience. I realized how much effort goes into putting together a decent magazine. It can consume a ton of time as it did in my case."
