Working as a servant to the super-rich has its challenges, but it's a job, even if you do have a Ph. D. from Columbia University. Melody just wants to keep her head down, do the work, and survive with her integrity intact. And she certainly doesn't want her powerful politician father finding out.



But then she discovers that her new employer, whom everyone calls "the Colonel," is going to run for the US Senate--for the opposing party. And the Colonel wants her to eavesdrop on his high-powered colleagues and billionaire benefactors while she serves them cocktails and clears away dishes, then report back with her findings.



Yet in this era of whacky politics and crazy politicians, the Colonel strikes Melody as being a reasonably sane man. Maybe this won't be so bad.
