Almost all of the men of the Boone family were well-known early American adventurers and frontiersmen. Squire Boone was no different. He accompanied his brother, Daniel, on several expeditions and treks into the wild, untamed Kentucky country. Then, in 1776, Squire packed up his family and moved them to Kentucky. His desire was to be a part of taming that vast, unspoiled frontier. Squire's sons, Jonathan, Moses, and Isaiah, witnessed and lived much of the tumultuous early history of Kentucky. Over the years, they survived numerous attacks by native tribes. They suffered unspeakable hardship, pain, and hunger as they helped their parents carve out a new life on the Kentucky frontier. They also fought alongside their father to protect their family. Pioneer life was fragile and uncertain. Through all of their trials, the sons of Squire Boone were always on the move. They were driven from place after place, fort after fort, and cabin after cabin. It seemed like they were Always Looking for a Home. But, would they ever find one? Would they ever really discover home?
