A beautifully illustrated and told story of perserverance and what it means to live in another country without leaving behind the love, loss and strength from your home country.

Zaynab, born in Yemen, left the war in Yemen behind with her sister and travelled to Egypt with her younger sister with plans of living in the US together. After having to leave her sister behind, Zaynab moved to the US to be with her mother and built a life of advocating for her and other marginalized communities.

Zaynab's story is presented in Arabic and English, the two languages of her youth.
