After six years of dating and no marriage proposal, Alli broke up with Sam. Getting out of town, on the weekend of Sam's thirtieth birthday, wasn't in her plans. Surprisingly, it sounded like the right choice since it allowed her to be as far away as possible from Sam and Minneapolis on that specific date. Vegas would do nicely. It wasn't that Sam didn't love Alli, because he did. But, starting a family was a big commitment that he didn't think he was ready to make, just yet. Six months later, neither had made the call and his birthday simply wouldn't be the same without her. When Sam's best friend suggested celebrating his birthday in Vegas, he agreed. Maybe then he could stop thinking about Alli for a few days. Anything can happen in Vegas! Surely there was some truth to the saying-What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
