Science fiction writers conceptualize the possible forms of future science and technology and then envision the impacts of these future developments on human life. Science fiction writers talk about unknown worlds in their stories either in terms of time or space or both. Many a time, some elements of these imaginative worlds, created by science fiction writers, may turn out to be a reality one day. Yet, science fiction writers are neither soothsayers nor prophets, they only project probabilities.
