"A political thriller that will keep you guessing to the very end." When the office of president of the United States suddenly and shockingly becomes vacant on the Saturday before Labor Day, Arthur Selby becomes the president-designate. The only problem is, nobody can find him. He seems to have simply disappeared. And thus begins one of the greatest manhunts in American history. Time, however, is of the utmost essence. Due to a unique set of circumstances concerning this situation, Selby's claim to the presidency will last only until midnight on Monday, at which point Raymond Curtis will become the rightful successor. It is a complicated Constitutional crisis with huge implications, for Selby is a liberal Democrat, as was his predecessor, and Curtis is a conservative Republican, and a potential major political shift hangs in the balance, depending upon which of them succeeds to the office. And so a power struggle begins as each side strives to see its candidate installed in the presidency, with one man-local reporter Todd Hendricks-just possibly holding the key as to which way it will all play out. In the meantime, there is nobody officially in charge of the government as a number of American embassies start coming under possible attack and North Korea begins massing thousands of combat ready troops on the border with South Korea. This is one Labor Day weekend that will be like no other, and one which will end with a totally unexpected twist.
