La oración utiliza los modismos de la Biblia hebrea y de los sabios de Israel. La Biblia hebrea es el fundamento de la fé Judía. La meta de este libro es proporcionar al lector una introducción general a lo que es la oración judía, además de algunas de las prácticas que se llevan a cabo dentro de la misma asociadas con ciertas oraciones las cuales son fundamentales. El objetivo es el proporcionar al estudiante o novato con la comprensión suficiente para que él o ella sean motivados a estudiar para así elevar su nivel de observancia. The subject of Jewish prayer is a fascinating topic. Like so many other aspects of Jewish practice, it constitutes a vast area of study. There are prayers and blessings for all types of occasions. Even if an individual has mastered the Hebrew language sufficiently to participate in the prayer services, there are many laws and customs associated with Jewish prayer. There is also a deep well of Jewish theology regarding prayer that many people are unaware of. The goal of this book is to provide the reader with an introduction to the theology of Jewish prayer and some of the basic practices associated with certain fundamental prayers. The objective is to provide the student or novice with sufficient understanding to spur him or her to further study and practice. For the sake of space, I have not included the full texts of the majority of the prayers that are discussed. The individual is instead encouraged to find a siddur (prayerbook) from among the list of siddurim (prayerbooks) in the section on recommended resources for additional study.
