This manuscript represents an anthology of my 30+ years in academia and in business. I owned several of them, but I managed and consulted some of the largest in different industries. I have taught both, Management and Leadership at the graduate level, along with several other disciplines. I consider myself lucky and blessed, because I had the distinct opportunity to develop some of the best Managers known, in several industries, but most importantly I have cultivated Leaders, who now run fortune 500 companies, along with some conglomerates around the World. I decided to put these seasoned thoughts on paper, because they represent an anthology of my life-time experiences. What you will see is a direct comparative analysis of the actions Managers take and I contrast that to the behavior of a Leader. I have addressed 27 different scenarios or cases, where you see, crystally clear, the behavior of a Manager and that of a Leader. My goal isn't to demonstrate who is best; actually both (Managers & Leaders) are important and needed in any business. My sincere hope is for you to understand the roles they play and the impact they have on to a business and of course on people. Once you comprehend that, you can then decide which role you want to play. The choice is totally yours. In the second part of the book I have put together the What-Why-How To. Unlike the first part, where I compare Managers and Leaders, here I demonstrate the main functions Leaders perform and then I explain "why" they perform them. The final aspect in this section addresses the way Leaders go about accomplishing their objectives, the "how." In the third part, I have put together a list of more than 100 attributes that Leaders possess and practice constantly. The beauty of it is that I designed it to be in alphabetical order for easy use. The goal for you is to identify how many of these attributes you practice daily. In the fourth part, you will find certain forms that I have designed for your practice. These are only some of the practical applications we use and they are intended to give you an idea of the significance of our "hands-on" practical training we offer.
