The final battle approaches, and as the inferno of war rages on, Luke Sardenallke reflects on his accomplishments, his failings, and his relationship with Kinsey. The two of them are considering getting married, but there will be no marriage if they do not kill Veru. There will be no future for him period if they do not kill Veru, and there may not be a future for the Octavale. With strengthened resolve, Luke leads the visionaries down the last stretch of their journey. The victory they relish is close, but it seems an eternity away.
