Johnny Drummer is a capable attorney who is asked to represent a client charged with the crime of planeticide: the wanton destruction of a viable biosphere. As a result of the human's violent behavior, the Cosmic Universal Authorities of Noble Planets have charged the human race with depraved indifference towards the welfare of the planet-Earth. In preparing the case, Johnny Drummer can subpoena witnesses from earth to testify on the human's behalf. The question is what witnesses would be the best to represent earth? Should he call the leaders of the major religions, the political elite of the United Nations, or the head of state of the major countries on earth?
